"The Bliss of Solitude: A Spiritual Journey at Rambai Ma Ashram (March 22, 2025)"

Rambai Ma Ashram

Vavaniya, March 22, 2025

Today marks the completion of the second day of the spiritual practice. This experiment of silence, solitude, and meditation is an exercise in renunciation. A sense of absolute bliss is emerging. After studying Jain philosophy, the conviction has deepened that Mahavira's path is one of renunciation.

"Thāṇeṇam, Moṇeṇam, Jhāṇeṇam, Appāṇam Vosirāmi:"

This means to keep the body still, remain silent, and immerse the mind in meditation — dedicating all three to the soul. This is the path of Mahavira’s spiritual practice. The path of Mahavira unfolds within oneself, not outside. The external world is an illusion, while the inner world holds the truth.

It is a journey of walking alone, with oneself as the sole companion. With the belief that one should accomplish the right tasks at the right time and age, this spiritual endeavor has commenced. The mindset of "Ekla Chalo Re" — walking alone — has guided this spiritual journey for years. Now, it is becoming even clearer that the joy of solitude far surpasses that of the crowd.

When we observe ourselves in silence, it becomes evident that many of our activities are meaningless and purposeless. On the other hand, there are many spiritual practices that give life its true purpose. If we can reduce our desire for fame, recognition, and applause, we will undoubtedly experience greater peace and satisfaction.

In this short life, the opportunity to discover oneself should not be lost. This spiritual practice is a step in that direction. Through it, the purpose of life becomes even clearer.
